The goal of this mini-series is to provide participants with practical project management tools and techniques that can be quickly and easily implemented in the workplace.
Participants can expect to walk away with templates and knowledge that will facilitate and significantly enhance the quality and value of their projects. This training series is designed for community professionals who wish to develop their project management skills, acquire tools, techniques, approaches and best practices in project management. The cost per participant of the mini-Series is $300 (15% discount) or $60.00/session
Workshop 1: Communication Management: September 7th, 2011
You will develop the skills they need to create dialogue and open communication channels that will assist in disseminating information for any type of project. You will learn how to develop a communication management plan that utilizes techniques for improving the communication of information in an effective and timely manner.
Workshop 2: Scope Management: September 14th, 2011
The scope is at the heart of every project. It is the starting point but if improperly defined or managed, it leads to ineffective use of time and money, and possibly in the end, poor products or services. You will learn how to define, describe, organize, and manage what is and what is not included in the project scope. Defining scope in a structured and professional manner will ultimately assist with the management of scope change.
Workshop 3: Risk Management: September 21, 2011
During this workshop you will gain the skills to quantify risks and create effective risk response strategies. You will learn how to customize and apply templates to create a risk management plan and risk register/matrix which are applicable in any office setting.
Workshop 4: Time Management: September 28, 2011
You will learn how to schedule, organize and estimate the duration of project activities, gaining tools and techniques that may be immediately applied to ensure that the project deliverables are on time and on budget as well as within quality specifications.
Workshop 5: Cost Management: October 5th, 2011
Focused on learning how to apply methods, tools and techniques to prepare estimates, develop and monitor budgets, manage cash flow, and ensure the project’s budgetary ambitions are monitored and attained, you will learn how to identify potential financial risks and implement contingencies.
Workshop 6: Quality Management: October 12th, 2011
This session offers the tools and techniques to help organizations ensure that project deliverables or services meet quality standards. You will learn how to identify and monitor quality standards and ensure appropriate controls are in place to achieve the desired quality.
